Tax, Tip, and Discount

Tax and tip add a percent onto a bill; a discount takes one off. Work out that percent of the original amount, then add it or subtract it. A 15% tip on 40 is 6, making 46. One multiplication does the same job: 1.15 × 40 for the tip, 0.85 × 40 for 15% off.
