Percent of a Quantity

Percent means hundredths, so 25% is 25 out of 100, or 0.25. To find a percentage of a number, turn the percent into a decimal and multiply. 25% of 80 is 0.25 × 80 = 20. A bar split into a hundred pieces shows the same answer visually.
