Exponent Rules
Exponent rules let you combine powers of the same base without writing every factor out. Multiplying adds the exponents, dividing subtracts them, and raising a power to another power multiplies them. So x³ × x⁴ = x⁷, because three factors followed by four factors make seven factors in all.
