Multiply and Divide Whole Numbers

Multiplication counts equal groups all at once: 6 × 4 is six rows of four, which an array of 24 squares shows at a glance. Division undoes it by asking how many groups fit, or how much each group gets. So 24 ÷ 4 returns the 6 you started with.
