2D and 3D Shapes

A 2D shape is flat, while a 3D shape takes up space. Describe a solid by counting its faces, edges, and vertices. A cube has 6 faces, 12 edges, and 8 vertices, and every one of those faces is a 2D square, so the flat shapes are the parts the solid is built from.
