Decompose and Rearrange Area

An awkward shape becomes easy once you cut it into rectangles. Split an L-shape into two rectangles, find each area, and add them; or complete it to one large rectangle and subtract the missing corner. Cutting a shape up and moving the pieces changes neither the area nor the answer.
